Patrol Quartermaster
General

The patrol Quartermaster reports to the Assistant Patrol
Leader and coordinates with the adult Quartermaster and Troop Quartermaster.
·
Patrol Quartermasters are a key position for each patrol
activity. If you are unable to perform
your job function, it is your responsibility to notify the Patrol Leader of the
change and to assist him in finding and designating a replacement.
·
As an important Troop
position, you must meet the highest standards for attitude, attendance, and
appearance. You must exemplify the
Scout Oath and Law.
Upon election
·
Coordinate with previous Patrol Quartermaster to ensure
completion of semi-annual Quartermaster inventory and field day.
·
Identify the goals for your
position and for your personal advancement.
These goals will be listed as short term, three months, and long term,
six months. The goals must be measurable,
achievable and meaningful.
One Time
·
Schedule and conduct
semi-annual inventory of patrol equipment approximately 6 weeks from end of
term of office. Submit a detailed,
written list of Patrol equipment list to the Troop Quartermaster. This list should detail a description of the
property, quantities and present condition of each item. Coordinate with Troop
Quartermaster for support and materials.

Schedule and conduct
semi-annual field day for maintenance and repair of patrol equipment
approximately 4 weeks from end of term of office. Coordinate with Troop Quartermaster for support and materials.
Monthly
·
On the meeting night prior to
troop activity, identify patrol equipment required.
·
On meeting night prior to
troop activity, verify location and operation of identified patrol equipment. Utilizing
the supplied Patrol Equipment box inventory sheets, conduct an inventory of the
Patrol equipment boxes to ensure an accurate count of patrol equipment
available for that activity, coordinate results with Troop Quartermaster.
Retain a copy of each inventory. This will establish a baseline for the
post-activity inventory performed prior to re-loading the equipment while
on-site of that activity. Provide Troop Quartermaster with written notice of
equipment or materials that must be repaired or replaced. As required, Patrol Quartermasters should
provide to their Grubmaster, a list of staples (foil, charcoal, paper towels,
etc.) that are in short supply and would be required for that activity.

Be present 15 minutes early
on preload night.

Be present 15 minutes early
on departure night of troop activity.
Begin loading troop and patrol equipment upon arrival.
·
Utilizing the supplied Patrol
Equipment box and Patrol Chuck box inventory sheets, conduct patrol equipment
and chuck box inventory and inspection prior to reload after troop
activity. Notify Troop Quartermaster
that your inspection is complete and ready for his final review. Provide the Troop Quartermaster with written
notice of equipment or materials that must be repaired or replaced at the
beginning of the inspection.

Be present for unload after
troop activity.
·
Report to Patrol Leader if
unable to attend any of the listed functions.
Together you will find a replacement.
As Needed
·
Suggest new or replacement
items.
·
Issue equipment and see that
it is returned in good order.
·
Keep equipment in good
repair.
·
Maintain inventory records of
patrol equipment.
