Chaplains Aide
General

The Chaplains Aide reports to
the Operations Assistant Senior Patrol Leader and coordinates with the Chaplains
Aide Mentor.
·
Chaplains’ Aide is a key
position requiring a minimum of 70% attendance. If you are unable to perform a job function, it is your
responsibility to find and designate a trained and qualified replacement, and
to notify the Operations Assistant Senior Patrol Leader of the change before
the date of that function.

As a key Troop position, you
must meet the highest standards for attitude, attendance and appearance. You must exemplify the Scout Oath and Law.
Upon election
·
Coordinate with previous Chaplains
Aide to conduct inventory of traveling chaplains’ case and support materials. Notify Operations Assistant Senior Patrol
Leader if additional materials are required or if existing materials need to be
repaired or replaced.
·
Develop and conduct, a 5-minute
skill session on the scout religious awards.
How they are obtained, where to get the materials and significance of
the award. Provide the Operations
Assistant Senior Patrol Leader with the schedule.

Identify the goals for your position and for your
personal advancement. These goals will
be listed as short term, three months, and long term, six months. The goals must be measurable, achievable and
meaningful.
One Time
·
Assist/Participate in the development and presentation
of the Junior Leader Training. Provide
to the Junior Leader Training, a calendar of all religious holidays affecting
troop scouts activities.
Monthly
·
On the meeting night prior to troop activity, identify religious
activities required during the troop activity.
·
Plan all the required
religious events and notify participants. Remember, you don’t have to provide a sermon, just a thought
focus or direction.
·
Ensure the traveling chaplains’ case, and all other
required materials are ready for the troop activity.
As Needed
·
Encourage saying grace at meals while camping or on actives.
